Hear intriguing stories about the American Wild West and examine WANTED/REWARD outlaw posters. We will combine drawing with language arts and poster making while fabricating Wild West characters inspired by our costumed models (cowboy & cowgirl). To add the appearance of authenticity we will scorch and stain our posters!
Wild about my family!. . . . . . . .Thursday – August 5, 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. With drawing and design and a medley of materials including shrinky-dinks, beads, charms, colored wire, sand, sticks, stones and more, create a sturdy fanciful family tree sculpture. Learn about genealogy and view some actual family tree diagrams. Bring in your own if you have one! Examine the shapes and foliage of different trees and how 3-D lines resemble drawings in space. Adorn your sculpture to reflect your family’s individuality and beauty. Build a heART-filled family keepsake!
ARTrageously Wild!..........Tuesday – August 17 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. With summer winding down, enjoy some outrageous artistic fun! Discover wild possibilities for self-expression with very unusual materials (silly putty and water pistols!), a copy machine and Photoshop (for all computer skill levels). Enjoy creative play, exploration and experimentation! Examine methods of the Surrealist and Abstract Expressionist painters as you design dreamy landscapes. Transform portraits into hilarious characters. Conventional media will also be available for painting, drawing, collage, and printmaking accompaniments.
Please provide your own non-perishable lunch, snacks and beverages and wear comfortable play clothing! The $45. fee per workshop includes all materials! Sign up for one, two or all three!
